F8M MAYORAL FORUM HIGHLIGHTS IMPORTANT EARLY CHILDHOOD POLICY PRIORITIES

First 8 Memphis (F8M) envisions a community where every child in Memphis and Shelby County has the necessary resources to thrive. We know that 90% of brain growth occurs before age 5 and that every $1 invested in early childhood programs and services leads to $6.30 return on investment later in life. Simply put, we must invest early and keep investing in our children!

The City of Memphis 2023 mayoral election represents a great opportunity for current and prospective leaders to support our community’s early childhood education plan and agenda: To build a high-quality, accessible early care and education system worthy of our youngest residents.

On Wednesday, August 23rd, F8M hosted a Mayoral Forum to address key policy priorities for a stronger Early Childhood Education System in Memphis and Shelby County.
