Welcome to our New Fall Intern
Latetrica Wilson is a native of the rhythm and blues music hub of the south: Memphis, Tennessee. She is the youngest of three, the twenty-seventh grandchild in her family, and one of two grandchildren to have earned a college degree.
Committed to working in child and human development, Latetrica received a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Child Development and Family Relations from Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee. She then earned a Master of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Human Development and Family Studies from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University in Normal, Alabama. Currently, Latetrica is a doctoral student at The University of Memphis in the department of Professional and Liberal Studies, with a concentration in Child Development and Sociology.
Because of her personal experiences, Latetrica believes education is the most powerful weapon for changing the world. Another quote Latetrica lives by is from Nelson Mandela: “No country can really develop unless its citizens are educated. Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. Education is the great engine of personal development.”
