Register Now for the Next First 8 Years Speaker Series Event on Feb. 24th!

Registration is open now for our second First 8 Years Speaker Series event on February 24th, 1-3 p.m. This special event is sponsored by the Early Success Coalition.

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Chandra Ghosh Ippen, an internationally known speaker on children’s mental health, as our keynote speaker. Dr. Ghosh Ippen has co-authored over 20 publications related to trauma and diversity-informed practice, including the book Don’t Hit My Mommy, which is the manual for Child-Parent Psychotherapy. She is also the Associate Director of the Child Trauma Research Program at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).

Attendees at the February event will gain insight into culturally relevant trauma-informed strategies to support young children as Dr. Gosh Ippen highlights the importance of children’s mental health and trauma.

Once again, a panel of local experts and advocates will join us to respond to Dr. Ghosh Ippen’s talk as it relates to Memphis and Shelby County:

  • Dr. Mindy Kronenberg, Clinical Psychologist

  • Alicia Norman, Pre-K Principal, Early Childhood Consultant & First 8 Memphis Board Member

  • Kimberly Thomas, Director of Parents as Teachers (PAT) – Porter-Leath

While we are proud to present the First 8 Years Speaker Series at no cost for attendees, we certainly appreciate donations to help us continue to bring dynamic speakers to Memphis for future events. You can make a donation here.
