Sue Bolding is the owner and CEO of Foreign Language Immersion Childcare (FLICC), specializing in providing exceptional care and quality Early Childhood Education, with the advantage of Spanish language immersion, for children 6 weeks through 5 years of age. After graduating from University of Central Arkansas, with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Sue taught elementary school for several years prior to moving to Costa Rica to study the Spanish language and Hispanic culture at Instituto de Lengua Española for one year. She is a fluent Spanish speaker, and a life-long Spanish language student.Upon the completion of her language studies, Sue and her family moved to Venezuela where they served for eleven years as contractors, overseeing the construction of schools and medical clinics in rural areas of Venezuela, for a private organization. Sue is deeply passionate about Early Childhood Education and the importance of early education and the development of young children, beginning at infancy. With over fifteen years’ experience in her current position, Sue understands, and values, exposing young children to multiple languages from an early age. Simultaneous language learning encourages the use of segments of the brain that encourage math and literacy skills. She is also an advocate for early literacy. FLICC is the only preschool in the Memphis area that has a program dedicated to teaching pre-reading, with a dedicated reading specialist. All children 30 months through 5 years attend small group reading class three to four times weekly. She is a long-standing member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the Tennessee Association for the Education of Young Children (TAEYC), and the Memphis Association for the Education of Young Children (MAEYC). Having lived and worked in downtown Memphis for many years, she is also a member of the Downtown Neighborhood Association (DNA). Also, Sue holds the Tennessee Early Childhood Program Administrator Credential (TECPAC) through Tennessee State University. During her time off, Sue enjoys traveling both domestically and internationally. She also enjoys spending time with her three adult children and their spouses and her five grandchildren. She is a “dog mom” to Tucker, her two-year-old goldendoodle.
